Operation Overload was a large scale operation that required a huge amount of pre-planning and preparation. Despite hindrances along the way, the successful invasion of Normandy was a historical, tide-turning achievement for the allies. Many say it marked the beginning of the end for Hitler and his plans to conquer Western Europe.

It’s hard to think that the beaches which we now freely use to our leisure, were once home to some of the most severe battling and loss of life in world history. As your tour guide, my aim is to give you knowledge and deep insight into all aspects Operation Overlord and D-Day, as well as the various obstacles the Allied forces faced in the invasion of Normandy.
